Need Help with a Home Repair?
Lake Chelan Habitat for Humanity’s Repairs Program helps income-qualified homeowners address critical health, safety, accessibility, and preservation needs that they may not have the financial or physical resources to complete on their own.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis while program funding is available. Because funding is limited, we encourage eligible homeowners to apply as soon as they are able. Applications are reviewed to determine eligibility and whether the requested work falls within the scope of the Repairs Program.
We are currently accepting applications for our Critical Repair Program!

Payment & Sweat Equity
The Repair & Revitalization Program is a hand-up, not a hand-out. The percentage owed is based on the total cost of repair. LCVHfH will work with homeowners to create a payment plan that works with the homeowner to pay the amount owed within 2 years. Accommodations can be made with approval from the Board.
Sweat Equity is hours worked on-site at the Habitat Store or within the community. Sweat Equity hours are traditionally completed by the homeowner as they help build or repair, however, LCVHfH understands that not everyone can work safely outside of their home or engage in construction tasks. Habitat will work with the homeowner to find sweat equity tasks that match their ability and skills. In some circumstances, sweat equity hours may be completed by a family member or friend(s).
Sweat Equity can include assisting with the repair, volunteering at the Habitat Store, volunteering with a local organization, school, or charity, homeowner repair and education courses, financial literacy courses, assisting with office work, or assisting LCVHfH during a home build and/or fundraisers. LCVHfH will provide a sweat equity tracking sheet that the homeowner is responsible for.

Depending on the project, repairs may be completed by Habitat volunteers, professional tradespeople, community partners, students, or a combination of these. You will receive and sign a Repairs Agreement that summarizes the scope of the project, the estimated cost of the repair, your share of that cost, and program requirements. Its purpose is to confirm your intention to work with Habitat to complete the repairs on your home and your willingness to partner with Habitat. It also confirm’s Habitat’s intention to work with you to complete the necessary repairs.
If you are NOT selected.
Lake Chelan Valley Habitat for Humanity is not always able to meet requests from applicants. Certain types of repairs also may only be possible when we have available licensed professional services (ex. roofing, electrical, plumbing) or there are other programs in our area that are better suited to the repair. Where we are unable to assist, we will do our best to refer you to other community resources if you are not eligible for our program or the project is denied.
