Board & Committee Service

Your time and experience can make a difference.

Looking to make a deeper impact? Serving on our Board of Directors or a Habitat Commitee is a meaningful way to lead our mission forward. Board and Committee members help shape strategy, build community relationships, and ensure strong governance and financial stewardship. We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives who are passionate about creating affordable housing solutions and stronger neighborhoods.

Lake Chelan Habitat has three operating committees made up of board members and community members to help our staff execute our mission of building homes, communities and hope. All board members are required to take a committee role, and new board members are nominated from committee members.

  • Community Outreach & Development

Works to build relationships and partnerships between Lake Chelan Valley Habitat and the community, businesses, and other organizations.

Members of this committee help educate the public on the need for better and more affordable housing, devise fundraising and marketing plans, and build relationships to improve resources for Habitat and those we serve.

  • Building & Site Selection

Responsible for planning and implementing construction projects, targeting areas in the community where projects can be developed and determining the suitability of potential building sites.

This committee also organizes construction volunteers and develops resources for current and future builds. They work with the Executive Director, Project Managers, Builders/Contractors and others to build efficiently, to plan and execute home construction and repair projects.

  • Homeowner Selection & Support

This committee is responsible for helping develop fair and equitable homeowner selection criteria and policies and ensuring the community is aware of available housing opportunities. Selection Committee members may also help with the screening of applicant applications and recommending applicants.

Members of this committee also provide Habitat homeowners and prospective homeowners with support and educational opportunities to help ensure their success.
